Whilst the centre is temporarily closed, we have taken the opportunity to strip down the floor in the Edna Rose room – with a remarkable result.
Over time, the floor of the Edna Rose room has built up polish residue and been scratched by the moving of tables and chairs, not to mention the movement of the library shelves when they are opened and closed each week. None of this can be helped in a thriving community centre. However, because it is in such constant use, it’s hard to find a suitable time when a strip and buff is possible.
Thanks to Covid-19, we have had such an opportunity. The floor has been buffed now to an almost mirror-like finish. Due to the composition of the flooring it will not be slippery but the cleaning of marks should be made that much easier.
